Easter between passion for flight and fun: activities for parents and kids

Cockpit visits of the G91 PAN and MB339 with former Frecce Tricolori pilots, plus a slime lab for children.

On Saturday, April 4 and Sunday, April 5, our visitors will have the extraordinary opportunity to get up close to the cockpits of two iconic aircrafts – the G91 PAN and the MB339 — on display at Volandia in the Italian Air Force Pavilion. Here, they will be able to meet and chat with two exceptional experts, both former “Pony 10” soloists of the Frecce Tricolori: Commander Angelo Boscolo for the G91 PAN, and Commander Maurizio Guzzetti for the MB339. They will share their flying experiences, making the visit even more engaging and authentic.

For children, in addition to meeting our extraordinary aerobatic pilots, we will organize a slime party on both days from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The activity is available with a €2 supplement on top of the admission ticket. Kids will be able to play, have fun, socialize, and take home a small souvenir!

Angelo Boscolo became a pilot flying the P146 and MB326, and later the Fiat G91—the aircraft that opened the way for him to join the National Aerobatic Team, the “Frecce Tricolori.” There, still flying the G91, he first served as both right and left wingman before becoming the solo pilot, commanding the Pony 10 aircraft now on display at Volandia. He was the creator of the famous “crazy aircraft” maneuver, still highly appreciated and performed today with the MB339 PAN. He concluded his military career with the rank of Major, then moved to civil aviation, commanding nearly all existing commercial jet aircraft. He has logged over 35,000 flight hours.

Maurizio Guzzetti began his career as a pilot at the Military Academy, later completing his training and earning his wings with the Royal Canadian Air Force. After returning to Italy, he flew the F-104 for several years before joining the Frecce Tricolori, where he first served as a wingman and later as a soloist on the MB339. In 1992, he left the team to become a commander of the E-3A AWACS for NATO in Geilenkirchen, holding the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He later flew civilian aircraft for various airlines, eventually joining Neos as a captain on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. He has logged just under 35,000 flight hours.
