Free Family Activities at Volandia on August 15 and 20% Off Admission Tickets!

This year, Volandia is celebrating Ferragosto (August 15) with a variety of free activities for aviation enthusiasts, tourists, and families with children.

In the Shapes of Flight Pavilion, recently upgraded with a cooling system to ensure maximum comfort even during the hottest summer days, visitors will have the opportunity to explore the cockpit of the Luftwaffe F-104 Starfighter, with the assistance of volunteers from the Friends of Volandia Association. This special activity will be available on Saturday, August 15, and Sunday, August 16.

All visitors will also be able to join our guided tours, exceptionally offered free of charge. Departing from the museum entrance, volunteers will lead groups on a guided visit through the museum’s aviation section at no additional cost beyond the admission ticket. Tours will take place both in the morning and in the afternoon on August 15, with a short break around lunchtime, allowing guests to enjoy a meal or snack at the museum’s cafés and refreshment areas.

And that’s not all! For Ferragosto, we have also organized a fun family activity that will take place in Volandia’s comfortable conference hall. Adults and children will be welcomed by our volunteers and given a few minutes to work together to design and build a paper airplane—without instructions and using only their imagination and creativity. Each family will be able to name and decorate their aircraft like a real experimental prototype.

Once the construction phase is complete, it will be time for the flight test. Each “crew” will launch their paper airplane in the designated area, and prizes will be awarded in the following categories:

• Longest Flight
• Most Creative Aircraft
• Most Spectacular Flight

A small prize will be awarded to the winner of each category.
